Intaglio prints printed from a 9x9.5 cm metal plate. They come on approximately A5 sized paper. This is an edition of 9 prints.
You can pick from three colours: a blue tint, red tint and black/grey tinted print.
I have censored my surname on the images for online safety, but the print you receive will have the full name on it.
A metal plate is covered in a substance called ground, lines are engraved into it, and then it is dipped in acid. The acid eats away at the exposed bits, creating a plate with etched grooves which you push ink into and print from. The "shading" is aquatint, created by further covering the plate in resin dust and etching it in acid multiple times, with different parts of the print covered in ground each time, creating different shades.
